Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team work with Equine Partners to help 8 Abandoned Ponies

Another day of amazing joint agency team work by Cheshire Rural Crime Team and Equine Partners.
Following a report on Wednesday of what appeared to be 8 abandoned cob type ponies in the Runcorn area, the team reattended yesterday with the RSPCA and World Horse Welfare. The ponies have been checked by a vet and removed to a place of safety.
PC Marson from Cheshire Police said we wish to thank everyone who has played a part in ensuring the welfare of these ponies were met while we made all the relevant arrangements which can take time. A huge thank you to the company and their employees for looking after all of us and for being patient, and to the member of public who provided food for their over night stay.
An investigation is now being led by the RSPCA into offences under the Animal Welfare Act.
