Dorset Police Raise Awareness on Passing Horses Safely on the Road
Great awareness film by Dorset Police – (1) Video | Facebook
As the weather starts to get warmer, we expect to see more people riding horses on the roads across the county
If you approach a horse rider while driving, please:
• Look out for the riders’ hand signals indicating their intended direction
• Reduce your speed to a maximum of 10mph when approaching and passing horses
• Be patient and do not sound your horn or rev your engine
• Overtake only when it is safe to do so
• Pass wide and slow giving the horse plenty of room
Further advice for both motorists and horse riders can be found here: https://www.dorsetroadsafe.org.uk/education…/horse-safe/
