Strangles Awareness Week – 6th to 12th May 2024
Strangles is a serious equine disease, endemic in the UK horse population.
The focus for Strangles Awareness Week in 2024 is about empowering horse owners to take proactive measures in disease prevention, supported by equine charities.
By making a few changes to existing horse care can make a real impact on the spread of disease.
There is a lot of vital research being done.
Being aware of the risk of strangles (and other diseases) and understanding that not all contagious horses look unwell is really important. All horse owners and the people working with horses can make a difference to the spread of disease.
