Essex Police Promote ‘Safe Pass’ and Tack Marking

On Saturday 20th of July 2024 officers from the Essex Police Commercial Vehicle Unit attended Beechwood Equestrian Centre, Rettendon Common to promote the very first ‘safe pass’ mat used to educate drivers on the safe passing distances and speeds for horses, wild animals, cyclists and pedestrians.

Officers also provided property marking services for tack and other valuables, alongside mobile weighing of vehicles & trailers and specialist advice in the area of commercial vehicles.

Essex Police are committed to working together with other forces and partners to reduce crime including the theft of horses, trailers, horseboxes and tack, encourage property marking and improve road safety.
