Midland Police Forces – Theft of Trailers & ATV’s – Advice

Police Forces neighbouring Staffordshire have reported a recent spike in rural crime, specifically the theft of trailers and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).

Offenders are believed to be operating in organized groups, often striking overnight and using rural access routes to avoid detection.

Here are some tips to help keep your property safe & secure:

– Secure trailers and ATVs with high-quality wheel locks, hitch locks, and immobilisers.

– Store vehicles out of sight in locked buildings or behind secure fencing where possible.

– Install motion-activated lighting and CCTV covering access points and storage areas.

– Mark your property with forensic marking kits or visible identifiers to deter theft and aid recovery.

– Record serial numbers and take photos of your equipment for insurance and recovery purposes.

– Report suspicious activity immediately – especially unfamiliar vehicles or persons in rural areas.

Let’s stay vigilant and work together to protect our communities. 🚜🌾
